Polyroof 185 System Used in Pitched Green Roof

14 Feb 2012

The architect of this swimming pool extension of a property in Bletchingdon, Oxfordshire, required a high performance waterproofing membrane as part of a green roof construction.

The project demanded an extremely durable and long-lasting solution with BBA approval, as well as thermally efficiency that met current building regulation standards. Being located over a swimming pool it was also essential that the roof was impervious to the large amounts of water vapour that would be present.

The Polyroof 185 system satisfied all the requirements of the architect. A plywood spreadsheet was mechanically fixed to the timber trusses of the pitched roof as a base for the new warm roof construction and a five-layer high performance vapour barrier was then fitted.

110mm PUR insulation was then installed to fulfil the thermal performance requirements and this was followed by high quality plywood that provided the substrate for the Polyroof 185 system. A green roof system was later installed over the roof to complete the project.
